Ankabut is the UAE's National Research and Education Network (NREN), offering academic institutions connectivity to other education networks around the world.Jointly funded by the TRA through the ICT Fund and by Khalifa University, Brash Brands created its new identity which was recently launched at the Middle East Communications (MECOM) Exhibition exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
Taking from this new initiative's vision of providing endless possibilities primarily through collaboration, the brandmark represents a living and breathing ecosystem where multiple pathways interconnect and exchange information and knowledge. Supporting this, the wordmark has been designed to incorporate modern and user friendly aesthetic cues apparent from its crafted typographic curvature and spatial consideration.
John Brash, Founder and Chief Executive of Brash Brands commented on the importance of the project: "A successful knowledge economy is one based on collaboration, connectivity and a fluid exchange of information amongst all individuals and institutions. Moving forward with an expanding state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Ankabut network will grow in breadth and depth, as it fosters channels of communication locally, within the region and on a global stage. This further underpins its vital role as a true UAE national asset.
